Ohrid Lake is the oldest and one of the deepest lakes in Europe. It is estimated to be around 4 million years old and has 200 endemic species.

Our country has many mountains and mountain peaks. It has around 34 mountain peaks.

Hello, my name is Hasan Güneri. I live in Serik/Antalya. I work at Belkis Secondary School. My school is small and nice. It has four classes with smart boards.

FAMILY HOLIDAY TRADITION

- The orthodox Christmas is on the 7th January and two days before that it is Badnik Eve and we gather with friends, make a barbeque and make a pie(zelnik) with cheese and leeks and we dring mulled wine and rakija. (Ana Marija)

- Gathering together with my family and eating dinner with them. (Elif)

- On the biggest Islamic fete Barjam our family is making baklava, the traditional dessert that we eat it with our family during this fete. (Fiona).

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT MY COUNTRY

- The former official name of my country in the UN was "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. (Hayat)

- Mother Theresa of Calcutta was born in Skopje 1910. Today you can see the Memorial house in her honor in center of Skopje. (Fiona)

- Macedonia is characterized by many valleys and mountains, as well as Ohrid Lake, one of the oldest lakes in Europe. (Ana Marija)

-Resen is well-known for its delicious apples. (Hayat)

- Prespas' got the only natural island in N. Macedonia. (Fiona)

- recently, in Dolna Prespa region the archeologists discovered a tomb dating back to the time of Alexander the Great, that indicates that Prespa region was inhabited in the 4th c B.C. (Ana Marija)

-Ahmed Niyazi Bey, the supporter of the Young Turk Revolution, has build his famous monument in Resen - The Saray in 1909, a french-style estate. (Elif)
