Meow,Meow. Welcome to my book of how to take care of cats. The experience of having a cat is amazing. I will say they do want a lot of attention, so make sure you ask your parents about getting a cat before you consider it. All the information I'm about to give you is from my own learning and understanding. 

     I hope you learn a lot from this book. Have a cat-tastic time!  

The first thing that is a must have is food and water. Make sure you have fresh and clean water for your cat (that applies for humans to). As for food,all cats are different. Some cats have health issues or can only eat certain foods. Talk to your veterinarian if that's the case. If your cat is on a normal diet I would recommend still talking with a vet to see what food is best for your cat.

To go back to a healthy cat's eating. If our cat is eating to fast, there are many ways you many fix that problem. My suggestion is getting a puzzle feeding bowl. It is a bowl that has barriers and shapes in it that makes your cat try to scoop out the food or find another way. Your cat will eventually adapt to the new eating habit. If for some reason it doesn't work, there are a couple other ways to help the problem. Ask your vet first before you try this. It might not be the best thing for your cat.

The other important thing is to have a place to have you cat go to the bathroom. The most reasonable way is getting a litter box. You can get standard litter boxes that just look like a bin without a lid. The other option is, if your cat pees upward, you might need a litter box with a full lid.

Wait! Don't just get a litter box. You still have to get litter. Litter is a grainy type of sand that goes into the litter box. Make sure your litter is safe for your cat. Talk to your vet about what brands of litter are safe to use. 

    The cat can dig it's waste in the litter. Also litter makes it easy to clean up the waste and even pee. The pee dries up in the litter so all you have to do is scoop it up! 

    You will also need a litter scooper and some place to dispose your cat's waste. If the litter gets stinky you can get natural deodorizer. Make sure it's safe for your cat. You could simply have a door to your litter box. However, make sure your cat can still get in!
