Hot weather, Dirty place, Filled with tricycles.
My mom went to Macau at first to make some money because she couldn't find jobs in the Philippines. She moved to Macau as an immigrant, after she made enough money and was sponsored by my aunty she was able to go to Canada as an immigrant.
My mom moved to Canada with my aunty at 2010. My aunty that sponsored my mom moved here at 2008.

"I had to move here for my son's future, I want him to have a bright future."
Mom Said
I am a first Generation, I was born in the Philippines. I lived there for 9 years with my Grandma while my mom was working, then moved to Canada for better education, cleaner place, and so I can be with my mom.
I really wish my cousins and family at the Philippines could come here to Canada, I miss them so much, I also miss the weather there, its always hot and its really nice showering.

Push factors
- Dirty in The Philippines / Clean in Canada
- Average Education in Philippines / Above average Education in Canada
- Canada is less polluted
Pull Factors
- Most of our family members are in the Philippines
- Our culture that we don't want to forget/lose
- Family members afraid to be left behind

Major Characteristics About Our Culture
-Food
us Filipinos love to eat, whatever it is. If it's edible we eat it one of my favorite Filipino dishes is adobo.
-Clothing
us Filipinos believe in different things, so some of us wear clothing that respects what we believe in.
-Religion
Most of us Filipinos are Christian so we go to churches ever Sunday.
- We Filipinos care a lot about our families, because of what we had to go through.
- us Filipinos are hard working especially ones that didn't have the opportunity to go to school.
Benefits of migrating to Canada
One of the benefits of living in Canada is, the transportation here in Toronto it's very easy to get to places. Toronto, Canada also is a multi cultural place so we can find our foods, clothing in some stores. The weather in Canada isn't always hot which we loved, because in the Philippines it's often over 30°c. The health care is also really good in Canada.
Another thing is, the water supply not only is there a lot. But it's one of the cleanest, in the Philippines where we live we didn't have clean water.
NOW WE'RE HERE, STILL WORKING HARD TRYING TO GET MY OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS TO MIGRATE HERE WITH US. THAT'S ALL I KNOW ABOUT HOW AND WHY MY MOM MIGRATED TO CANADA. I THINK THAT IT WAS A GREAT CHOICE BECAUSE THERE'S WAY MORE OPPORTUNITIES HERE.
