Phoenix is a little girl who always says good morning to everyone.  All her teachers say how polite she is because she says thank you for everything they give her.  Phoenix is always asking the other children who don’t have anyone to talk to if they want to play.  She doesn’t like anyone being left out.  

One day Phoenix’s teacher told all the kids to ask their parents to come in for a day to do career day.

 When the teacher said that Phoenix asked to go to the bathroom, when the teacher said she could, Phoenix left in a hurry.

 When she came back her eyes looked red.

The end of the day came quickly so all the kids cleaned up all the toys they had played with that day and got into line to go get on the bus to go home.  Phoenix was always the last stop cause of where her house is.

When she got home she told her mom about career day. The problem of career day is her mom is a stay at home mom.

 Her dad is in the US military.  He was across the world deployed so she couldn’t ask him to go. Phoenix is very proud of her dad but she is always sad when he isn’t home with her and mom.  Phoenix and her mom don’t get to talk to him much because of the really bad internet connection over there.

Phoenix told her mom how sad she was because she couldn’t bring her dad to career day and how she missed him so much.  She asked when he was coming home to them.  Her mom told her that she is grateful that she told her how she feels.  She then explained that she didn’t know but that she would try to call him so she could talk to him.
