Many years ago in a far away country there was a war.

There was a little town placed between Montserrat mountains.

The villagers were very worried because the army wanted to attack them.

A little clever boy lived in the town. He had always his drum with him.

People called him " Little drummer boy"

He was also worried about the arrival of the army. He wanted to help the villagers.

The captain of the army was the feared Napoleon who lived in a big palace in France. 

He wanted to conquer all the lands so he sent his army to the other countries.

The villagers did not know what to do when they knew that the army was coming to their village.

- Napoleon is going to attack the village!

- The army will be here soon!

- Oh my God! what can we do?

I want to help you!, said the little drummer boy

- No, you are so young! go back home and do not go out until the army has gone away! said his dad.

But, when he was going back home, he had a clever idea!

- I 've got it!

- I can play my drum very very loud.

And he had another idea!

- I can go up to Montserrat mountains and play and play my drum. Then a loud echo will be heard all around and far away and the soldiers will be scared !
