Introduction
Years had passed since the Great War of 2689. Alexa and Eon still remembered when the endless sonic booms and electric quar fire shook the air. Atomic bombs would drop endlessly, several billions of people had died. Alexa and Eon were now orphaned, having all their family members killed in the war, but they still had each other. The story starts one dark night when Eon is being chased by a Quarer.
Chapter 1
“Hey!” A Quarer had seen Eon. He turned around and ran with all his might, but the Quarer was gaining ground fast. Beads of sweat poured down his face, as he jumped through the city, the metallic pounding of its feet right behind him. Just when Eon thought he had gotten away, the Quarer shot antimatter particles that barely missed his face. “Stupid Quarer!” Eon grumbled. “All I was doing was looking for supplies!” Then it was over. A metallic arm had grabbed his shoulder. Eon felt a surge of pain as if his shoulder was exploding. He fell to the ground, gasping. He could see the barrel of the Quarer’s rifle. I’m dead. He thought as the Quarer stared down at him. “I’m dead.” But he wasn’t sure. He didn’t feel any pain, or any sudden explosion. “If this is dieing, it isn’t so bad.” He thought. He opened his eyes. He gasped. Alexa was standing there, robotic arm in hand and Quarer on the ground. It had bright volts coming out of his back. “Thanks.” He gasped, rubbing his shoulder. “You all right?” Alexa asked, extending her hand. He grabbed it and got up.
Thanks.” He said again. “Don’t mention it. It was nothing.” She replied. Before Eon could say anything, she changed the subject. “Anyway, it looks like you’re low on weapons, huh?” Once again, she responded to her own question before he could say anything. “Here. Have this.” Eon looked down at the weapon in Alexa’s arms. “Wow…” He gasped. There was a huge, antimatter rifle with two barrels. “Thanks!” He exclaimed. “The amount of Quarers are becoming more frequent, the city will soon be overwhelmed we need to escape sooner or later.” Alexa responded. “We have to be ready to run.”
Chapter 2
The air seemed to be still as Eon looked into the distance, the city was quiet but also echoed with the shots of Quarers. They were looking for all the survivors, the Quarers had found Kepler 22B where 22 billion survivors lived and the war was still continuing.
“This is crazy.” Alexa grumbled. “Let’s go look for metal. We still need an engine to finish our maglev.” Eon rolled his eyes. “That’s what I was trying to do, before I was about to be killed.” Alexa just smiled. “But this time, I’m going with you.”
Alexa and Eon walked through the urban wasteland. The air had seemed to have been holding its breath and the sky was filled with stars and debris, looking out for needed metal and more importantly, Quarers who might try to destroy them. “Over here!” Eon heard Alexa shout after a few minutes. “A 55-T Magnet. Perfect.” Eon nodded. “Yes!” He shouted. But he shouted a little too loud. A few Quarers in the distance turned toward him, their magnetic feet hovering above the ground He heard them transmit something in aren. “Run!” He shouted to Alexa. “We don’t have to!” She replied as antimatter particles flew by them. “What?” Eon shouted as he fired his rifle. Alexa smiled at him. “Get in the maglev!” Eon looked at her. “What?” He looked up. A sleek, blue and gray maglev floated a few feet off the ground in front of him. “Wow! You did it!” Eon exclaimed. Eon hopped on, and the maglev zoomed away from the Quarers at 120 mph. “So long!” Alexa shouted back.
Chapter 3
“Go faster!” Eon yelled at Alexa. Alexa nodded. “If you say so!” The maglev sped up to 900 MPH. “Woo hoo!” Alexa exclaimed. Eon shouted. “Look behind us!” Quarers were chasing them faster now joining together and zooming faster. Antimatter particles flew everywhere. Eon aimed his rifle at one of the Quarers engines and fired. “POW!” “Direct hit!” Eon shouted. The sound of the hit echoed throughout the area, it was as if a sonic boom had gone off. An extreme catastrophe for the Quarers followed. But in the end, Alexa and Eon blew up four Quarers before escaping. “Great shots!” Alexa complimented Eon. “And nice driving!” He told her. They sped out of the metropolis in complete safety. “Whew!” Alexa gasped. “That was a close one!” Eon nodded. “A little too close.” None of them said anything else until they went back to the city.
Let’s check our base. You know, see if we have anything to make new weapons.” Eon agreed. They hopped off their maglev and raced toward their base. When Eon turned the corner, he immediately knew something was wrong. Two Quarers were inspecting their entrance. It was finger-print locked, but if they didn’t do anything, the Quarers might report to their commander. “Alexa! Get over here!” Eon whispered. “Look at this!” Alexa gasped as she turned the corner. “Get them!” Alexa said under her breath. Before Eon could react, Alexa pulled out her twin blasters and fired antimatter particles at the Quarers. They immediately turned to her, but one of them turned too late. Alexa’s bolts hit it, blowing it up. The other got Alexa in the stomach. She fell to the ground with a little “Oh!” She became unconscious. “No!” Eon shouted. “Blam!” He shot the other Quarer an unnecessary twelve times. “Alexa! Alexa! Wake up!” He shouted frantically. But no matter what he did, she did not wake up. He gave up and dragged her into the base.
