Hi my name is Darian and this is the story about my experience on a show called "The Box"

Yes, of course!
Would you like be on "The Box"
One day I was sitting in my room and got a phone call. The producer from "The Box" called me and asked if I wanted to be part of their show tomorrow.
Of course I said yes. I was so excited but, nervous at the same time

The next day came along and it was time to leave to go to the studio. When I got there there were four other people standing around a giant box.
No one knew why we were there and no one knew what to topic was, so we all just waited for the director to come and tell us.

The Box

Todays topic is about religion
The producer walks in and says "the topic of todays show is religion. The 5 of you will decide which religion is the best. We gathered you all here today because you all believe in different religions. We have Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Shintoism, and Buddhism, now you must get in the box and decide on the winner. GO!!"

We all got into the box and were very shocked. We didn't feel right about picking "the best religion", but we all wanted to win.
There was a 30 minute timer for our voting round, so we knew that we needed to get started.

Christianity
Buddhism
Judaism
Shintoism
Islam
The first thing we did was introducing ourselves and religion.
I started by saying, "hi I am Darion and I practice Christianity". The girl to my left introduced herself as Brittany and a believer of Buddhism. The man next to me named Oscar practices Islam, the other girl is named Avery and believes in Judaism, and lastly the other man is named Tony who practices Shintoism.

Brittany starts off by asking everyone where and when their religion originated. I responded by saying, "Christianity originated in Jerusalem in the 1st century AD." Avery added, "Judaism also originated in Jerusalem, but it is the oldest monotheistic religion dating back to about 4,000 years ago." Tony says "Shintoism originated in ancient Japan in the 6th century BCE", while Brittany adds, "Buddhism originated in the 6th century BCE also, but in India". Lastly, with 5 minutes left Oscar states that Islam originated in Mecca in the 7th Century AD".

Oscar has been voted out. If the lights turn red you were wrong to vote him out

We now realize we will have to vote someone out so we all agree on voting Oscar out because his religion didn't originate at the same time as anyone or in the same place. Everyone here is just fighting for themselves because in our minds our religion is the right one.
The director comes in to tell us we need to vote. As we vote we apologize to Oscar and wait patiently. Once the votes were counted Oscar was voted out. When Oscar left the box, we all waited anxiously for the light.

The lights turned red and we all sighed in disappointment. Instead of complaining I take action and say "we don't want to waste our time, so who is your religions founder and who are your Deities. Christianity's founder is the Ministry of Jesus and we believe in one god, God himself ". Avery says "Judaism worships the same god as Christianity, but it is disrespectful to say his name. The founder is Abraham." Brittany added that Buddhism doesn't believe in a god, but their founder is Siddhartha Gautama. Tony then adds that Shinto gods, are referred to as Kami, but Shinto doesn't have a founder.

Tony has been voted out. If the lights turn red you were wrong to vote him out

After our discussion about the founders and gods, it's time to vote. I decided to vote for Tony because how do you not have a founder, thats weird to me. When everyone is done voting, the director announces that Tony was voted out. He leaves the box and we wait for the lights to come on.

The lights turned red again, "what are we doing wrong?" I thought "Whatever lets get back to asking questions" I said to myself.
"What are some sacred texts of your religion?" Asked Brittany. I responded with the Bible. Brittany said the Siddhartha Gautama, The Book of the Dead and the Sutras and Avery said The Tanakh, The Torah, and The Talmud. This scared me because I only said one sacred text, "am I gonna get voted out?" I asked myself.
