Chapter 1: It’s Too Late
It's pretty weird to think that someone plans a trip with you, but you forget about, even though you have been thinking about it the whole day. Yesterday, I was very tired and pretty annoyed, as well as my older brother, because of the fact that my mom and dad planned a trip to Niagara Falls, and they didn’t let us know, so we were basically 10 minutes late for our bus.
“Wake up Austin! Wake up Charles! We are gonna be late for our bus trip to Niagara Falls!” my Mom said.
"What bus trip? Oh yeah, I forgot. Great," I said. We had to wake up at 4 A.M, but we woke up at 4:30 A.M. And the minute we were finished picking and wearing our clothes, my dad said this—
“We are late for our bus by five minutes. We are gonna have to take the car and drive.”
I was pretty bummed out, as well as Charles, my older brother, because it was my parents fault that they didn’t tell us about the trip and we woke up late. Now we are gonna have to go through some tiring trip driving to Niagara Falls. But anyways, my dad was starting up the car, and told us to get in the car, but I asked him this—
“Hey Dad, how long is it gonna take for us to get from here to Canada?” I asked.
“On my GPS, it says that it’s going to take about 5-6 hours of driving,” said Dad.
“Ok I guess, I am just gonna go to the deli to get some food. I am definitely gonna get hungry.” I said.
“Ok Austin! Make sure to come back soon!” My Dad shouted.
I was going to the deli, until I realized I had no money, so I went back to my bedroom to get 15$, and spent it on some chips and stuff like that. I came back with very little money, though. But, it was finally time to go, so we entered the car, and my Dad started driving. Finally, the start of our long trip to Canada.
Chapter 2: Too Long
It has been almost five hours, even though to me, it felt like a billion years. It was supposed to take us five hours, but we were stuck in some traffic in the middle of a bridge, which took up most of our time. I was getting pretty tired and hungry, so I decided to eat some chips.
“Hey Austin, can I get a bag of chips too?” Charles asked.
“Sure I guess?” I answered. Guess like Charles is also hungry.
I was sleeping in the car for a while, woke up again, and saw that it was 4 P.M. And because of that, we started a 10–second “argument”
“Why is it taking so long? I just want to get—” I said.
“It’s going to take a few more hours,” Dad said.
“WHAT? I JUST WANT TO GET—” I yelled.
“Ok Ok, we know that, it’s just that—” Dad said.
“Just go back to sleep Austin,” Mom said.
I just went back to sleep and woke up several times, until my brother started shouting—
“We are here! Look at the view! The water lights up!” Charles said.
“Woah, it looks so cool!” I said.
“Well, we need to check through the border security station,” my Dad said.
“Ugh, great,” I sarcastically said.
It took some time to get through it, but we were allowed into Niagara Falls, and we tried finding a hotel.
It was the middle of the night, and we are just walking around Niagara Falls. The nearest hotel was this hotel called Glengate Hotel, and it looked more of a hotel wealthy people would go to, because it was very luxurious, but very cheap. We got our hotel cards, and went to our rooms.
“I’m very tired. Let’s just go to sleep for now. The trip has been very long and tiring,” I said sleepily.
“Yeah. Let’s go to sleep. Hey Dad, aren’t you and Mom gonna come?” Charles said.
“Yeah we will,” Mom said.
And so we went to sleep. Who knows what comes the next day?
Chapter 3: Awesomesauce, sort of
The trip has been pretty amazing so far. We got to get a glance at the view of Niagara Falls and get into a very cheap and luxurious hotel.
But anyway, it is time for the new day. Well, things didn’t start off so well. We basically didn’t find a restaurant to eat breakfast, due to the fact that we literally didn’t bring any food except my box of chips and other food, and we didn’t have a kitchen to cook stuff in our room. And we started our second argument.
“I’m so hungry, why are there no restaurants to eat breakfast at?” I asked.
“Yeah, this place is full of useless—” Charles said
“Don’t say that you—” I said
“How about you don’t say anything while we try to find a place to eat,” Dad said.
We became pretty irritated and hungry as we were walking in the streets in the middle of some city. We passed lots of buffets and restaurants, until we found this specific buffet only for breakfast.
“Hey look, the perfect buffet to eat breakfast!” My Dad said
“At last, we can eat,” my Mom said. We entered the buffet and picked out some varieties of food to eat. I decided to eat with sunnyside-up eggs, toast, and a croissant.
“Mmmm, it tastes pretty good,” I said
“Yeah I know! It’s so good!” Mom said.
We finished eating our breakfast, but now we can’t find our way back to our hotel, so we just started roaming around the city. We ended up in a park and got some maps of Niagara Falls.
“Let’s get some maps and eventually end up at our hotel,” I said.
“Ok! They only cost $1 a piece, so why not!” Dad said.
We started heading to this avenue called Stanley Avenue. We just walked and walked, until we noticed the hotel, and found out that the buffet was just a few blocks away from our hotel.
We just didn’t want to stay at our hotel; we also wanted to do some fun. So we went to the place where you see Niagara Falls. We walked until we saw it.
“Woah! It looks so cool!” Charles said.
“Yeah, I know! Let’s take some pictures!” Mom said
And so we did. We took pictures, looked at some binoculars that you had to pay in order to use, but I used it for free. We also bought many souvenirs from a nearby gift shop, which wasn’t really a gift shop.
We found this area where you rent boats and helicopters to view the falls from a lower and higher area. We decided to give it a try and paid $50, and it was totally worth it, even though I was a little scared at first.
