Dedicated to our teacher, Nikos Petsas.

Once upon a time in ancient Ionia, someone left his phormix at a slope near a street.

Some kids were playing nearby and one of them, Homer, found the phorminx.
His brother told him that it was just rubbish and hearing this, the phormix felt offended.
However Homer took the phorminx home.

Their parents said that they should search for the owner of the phorminx and, when they found him, they should persuade him to take it back.

The days went by, and there was no sign of the owner of the phorminx. Homer was happy, because, little by little, he learned to play the phorminx himself.

The new king forbade the songsters (minstrels) to sing because their music brought him a headache.
Homer went to find him in order to change his mind.
The night before, he had had a strange dream: someone was saying a very big word to him.

And from then on, the songsters could sing again.

When Homer grew up, he became a famous songster. He sang and played his phorminx in all the cities of ancient Greece.
