This book will show the importance of helping out in our communities and the value of making new, unexpected friendships.

The school year had ended, and summer was about to begin. A group of friends, Emma, Ian, and Mia, were looking to volunteer somewhere and help out in their community. That same day school ended, they began to look for places to volunteer at. They decided to volunteer at a nearby food bank.

When they arrived at the food bank, they asked if they needed any extra help. The lady in charge welcomed them to the team and handed them matching t-shirts. The kids were excited to help others.

Miss Olivia, the lady in charge, gave the group of kids instructions on how to assemble the boxes with food. First, Emma would grab the boxes and them ready for Ian to fill them up with canned goods, then Mia would finish them by adding any dry food and snacks as directed by the instructions.

Foodbank

Once they finished all the boxes, all three friends got ready to hand out the food boxes to all those who showed up. They saw so many people who went to get a box of food throughout the day, but there was an older man they recognize from the street they lived in.

Emma, Mia, and Ian would volunteer at the food bank every week and they would see the same old man who would always drive up in his blue little car. The group of kids always made conversation with him and cheered him up.

One day after a long day at the food bank, Emma, Mia, and Ian went to the icecream shop and there, sitting alone, was the old man. The kids went over and kindly asked if they could join him. The old man, Mr. Albert, talked to them about his life experiences and always had a smile on his face.

Mr. Albert offered to give Emma, Mia, and Ian a ride home in his little blue car and on the way home they listened to some of Mr.Albert's favorite music.
