FOR MY PARENTS

Summer vacation is almost here, and my parents decided that this summer we will go on a family trip to visit our country, instead of just going to one place, to stay there for a week. I asked them to tell me where we will go, and what we will see there.

Our trip starts in Bucharest, because this is where we live and we will go to Brașov, where we will stay for a few days and then leave for Maramureș, Turda, Cluj Napoca, Alba-Iulia, and Hunedoara. Some of these places sound familiar, Dad says it is because we were there when I was little.

We will go to Brasov first, and we will go to the top of Tampa hill, and to visit the old center of the city, to see an old church called “Biserica neagra”, and some other things. I heard there are bears in Brasov, I am curious to see one.

Then we will go to Maramures. This is not a city, it is an area with villages and little towns, and some beautiful mountains. There we will ride a very old train called “Mocanita”, and we will see the biggest waterfall in Romania, it is called “Cascada Cailor”.

After that, we will go to visit the salt mine “Salina Turda”. I also visited the salt mine “Ocnele Mari” a few years ago, I am curious how this one is different.  

Close to this salt mine is a big city called Cluj Napoca, and we'll go there next, to visit the Botanical Garden, because I love flowers.

Then we will go to Alba Iulia, this time because my Dad wants to visit it. He says there is a very old fortress there, and he wants to see it in real life, not just in pictures. 

Our next stop will be a city called Hunedoara, so that Dad can see another fortress. This one is called “Castelul Corvinilor”, and it is a real castle, where princesses and princes lived a long time ago.

After we see this place, we will go to see the aurochs in the reservation at Prislop. I saw pictures of them and they look big and hairy, and they have horns, but I am not scared, I want to see them.

    Then we will finally go to Ramnicu Valcea, to stay near the salt mine “Ocnele Mari”. I really like it there, and we went there all the time, but last year we couldn't go, so this year I want to make up for it by staying longer.

I wanted to go some place else after this, but my parents said two weeks is all the time we have for this trip, so we will go back home after this.

I can't wait to go see all those new places!
