It was a very quiet winter night in the city of Paris.
On the 5th floor of an old building, in the neighborhood of Le Marais, David and Sara were also having dinner.
But it wasn’t just a regular dinner, it was the dinner where they were going to plan the perfect robbery: disguise themselves, enter the museum and steal the Mona Lisa.
The plan was as follows: Sara and David would dress up as tourists so that they would not be recognized, they would enter the museum and act like tourists who wanted to see the Mona Lisa.
And so they did. When the museum workers were going to present the Mona Lisa, Sara, dressed up as a tourist, pretended to have an accident…
While everyone was trying to help Sara, David stole the Mona Lisa. Finally, David escaped through a duct while Sara left the museum.
An hour later, they met in Quai Voltaire Street, got into a car, changed their clothes, and went to the hotel. The plan worked perfectly.
The next morning, the city of Paris woke up with the sad news. The Mona Lisa had been stolen. In addition to the disappearance of the painting, people were worried because Queen Elena was going to visit the museum in a week and the work of art wasn't in it.
She was known for her bad temper, and if the painting didn't appear she was going to be very angry.
The next day, Mr. Williams went directly to the police station. He didn’t want to waste any time. Apparently, one of the policemen had not been there the night of the crime because he was sick. He became his first suspect but, was it possible that a policeman became a thief?
Before leaving the police station, another agent approached him and told him that they had to treat a young woman who appeared to be very sick, but ended up leaving the museum on her own foot.
But when he asked the police about her face, they told him that she was wearing sunglasses and a mask. “Mmm that was weird…”. He thought that the young woman could be the second suspect.
The thieves had committed the biggest crime in history and they knew that they would surely hire the best detective in the country. And so they did, they hired Mr. Williams and gave him a week to find the thief or thieves.
The detective quickly got to work. He went to the museum but there was no one in it. The director of the museum closed it to help the investigation.
After a while, the detective hadn’t found any clues but he came to the conclusion that there had to be two thieves because the crime was perfect. One of them robbed the painting and the other one distracted the guards.
The next day the detective went to the police station to investigate the police. He started his shift at 12 o'clock so he had plenty of time to investigate.First, he looked for the subject's locker. He opened it with his master key and he found a costume.
A tourist costume “Mmm interesting” - he thought. That confirmed that the policeman was involved in the robbery. The detective sat down on a bench of the police station and waited for him to arrive. He followed him, quietly, to a dead-end. When the policeman arrived, he realized that there was a young woman waiting for him.
"Stop!" exclaimed the detective. "Return the Mona Lisa!" he said with a little more softness."Okay, we’ll give it to you, but only if you don't hand us over to the police," said the thieves. "Okay, I won't hand you over to the police on the condition that you return the painting and flee to another country and that's how the problematic situation got solved.
The thieves traveled to the U.S.A. and started a new life as good people and the detective received an award for his great job.
The thieves contacted the detective after a couple of years to see if they could return to France, promising that they had not committed any crime and had worked in an NGO and The detective agreed. The ex-offenders took off on a plane to France to see their loved ones.
