Hi! My name is Blue. I'm five
years old and I live here in
Hawaii. Everyone gets scared
when I get near them. I don't
know why. Is it because I'm
blue?
The rest of the crabs are
always talking about me
and it hurts my feelings.
They are red and mean.
As I walked away from the
red crabs, I wondered what
I had to do to blend in with
them. So, I climbed on a
boat near the shore and I
found red paint!
OH, NO !! I didn't think
that the paint would
come off with the water!
Now everyone knows
that I'm not red but blue!
I will never have friends.
I'm not weird... I'm not ugly. I'm
like everyone else. Just because I'm
blue doesn't mean I'm not like
them.
I'm a crab. They are crabs, too. Why
can't they accept me or treat me the
same ?
Many fish in the sea are different
colors. For example, fish, sharks,
stars, seahorses, and more! As I
explained this to them, they
were surprised. Some even felt
bad.
The Red crabs have finally
realized that I'm just like them!
We are all best friends, and we
love hanging out under the sea.
I learned to accept myself and to
treat everyone the same no
matter what color or shape they
are.
