Once upon a time, there was a chameleon that wanted to change colours, as the other chameleons did, but he couldn't.

"I want to be blue, like the sky", "I want to be red, like the flowers", "I want to be brown, like the trees"

"But I can't. What can I do?"

Suddenly he met a cat and a butterfly which were playing in the garden.

"What's wrong?" the cat asked the chameleon.

"I want to change colours"

"But you are a chameleon, you can change colours" the butterfly said.

"No, I can't" the chameleon

said sadly.

"I've got an idea" said the cat. "We can paint you with different colours"

"Great idea!" said the butterfly.

"Yes! I will be a colourful chameleon!"

So the cat and the butterfly took their pencilcases and started painting the

chameleon with crayons.

The chameleon was so happy that he started running and jumping everywhere.

Suddenly, a farmer appeared in the garden with a bucket of water, and accidentally threw the water on the chameleon washing out all the colours.

"Oh no! My colours!"

"Oh my god! That's terrible, terrible"

the cat and the butterfly said.

The rain started pouring so heavily that the chameleon

woke up.

As soon as he woke up, he realised that he was sleeping on a red flower... And he was red, too!

Everything had been a bad, bad

dream.
