The children met a stranger on the bridge. He looked very sad. The friends thought that he needed help: "What happened? Do you need help?" they asked. "Oh, thank you so much for your offer... I am a writer-wizard. My name is Oleh Olzhych. I travel around the world and get presents in each country, but, unfortunately I lost a mace which I had got in Ukraine",
said wizard. "Don't worry! We can help you!", the kids replied. "Really? Then get ready for a wonderful tour!"the magician said. Oleh Olzhych opened a book, read a spell and they all appeared in an unknown place.
Zbelutka, Sadkow and Gesice looked around and saw a marvellous park. There was much snow everywhere and the snowflakes were falling down. "You are in the central park of Khmelnytskyi city, Ukraine", the wizard explained, "Let's start our search from here", he pointed to the zoo. The children agreed and hurried in the indicated direction.
-Hey! Are you looking for something? they heard a funny voice behind. The friends turned around and saw a dog.
-Look! It's a talking dog! I guess, he is very clever, Sadkow said.
-Hi! My name is Sirko. I live in this zoo. Is there anything I can do for you? - the dog wondered.
-We are looking for a mace which I lost in your city. - the wizard explained.
-I think I know where you can find it, but first
let's play a ball with me.
So, the kids played a game with Sirko and then he told them to go to the Independence Square and look for the mace there.
Suddenly a miracle happened - the children saw three reindeer who took them to the Independence Square. There was a big Christmas tree in the centre of the square. It was amazing! The tree was decorated with lights and there was a shining star on the top of the tree. The friends looked for a mace everywhere, but couldn't find it. Then Gesice noticed an advertisement. It was an invitation to visit a local historical museum.
The children saw a car, it was a taxi which took them to the museum. A guide met them at the entrance. She was very glad to tell the history and show the photos of Khmelnytskyi city. There was hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi in one of the photos. He was holding a mace. "Here is the answer to our question!" Zbelutka exclaimed happily. "Could you tell us where this monument is?" she wondered.
The guide told that the monument
was near the philharmonic society
and the friends went there.
Having arrived there, they saw a
statue of hetman riding a horse.
-Oh, how can we get the mace? - wondered Sadkow.
-Don't worry. I can do it. - and the wizard read a magic spell and suddenly the statue came alive.
-I know what you are looking for, I'll give you the mace, but only if you answer my question: When was I born?
-I know! The guide told us that you were born in the 18th century.
-You are right. The mace is yours.
Bohdan Khmelnytskyi gave the mace to kids, got onto his horse and became immovable again.
The wizard thanked the children and asked if they wanted to travel somewhere. He promised to make their wishes come true if they
wanted. The children were
very happy to visit
Khmelnytskyi and
experience new
adventures.
"I think, it's high time to go back home," said Zbelutka. Sadkow and Gęsice agreed with the girl, they missed their family, friends and native country eTwinning.
"No problem," replied Oleh Olzhych, "I can deliver you to your motherland in no time. Here is the magic ipad, just type in the address www.etwinning.net and you are at home".
