Spain went to explore the New World (America)
for conquest at 1492. France explored The New World in
16th century for a route to the Pacific Ocean and also for
wealth. England searched for a north west passage
through the continent and plundering Spanish ships.
When they explored The New World, they found new
things to share. So they started the Columbian
Exchange. The Colombian Exchange is a widespread
transfer of animal, plants, diseases, crops, etc.

Economic is getting very low. Religion has
change people to catholic. Many were in
charge. Monarchy became leaders. Pilgrim is a
member of the group that rejected the church
of england, sailed to America, some people
wanted to get more land to grow their plants
because England was getting over run-ed by
their inhabitants. But some just wanted to get
more natural resources to trade in England or
to make manufactured goods. An example of a
new natural resource is a potato, the English
discovered the potato in America.

Thomas Hooker was a puritan he ran into
religious problems with his family. Charles de
Montesquieu was famous for seperation of
powers which implemented to the world.
William Blackstone was an english jurist
(judge) and Tory politician. William Penn was
best known for founding the colony of
Pennsylvania.

Free enterprise is an economical system in
which private business operates in competition
and largely feed state control.
Mercantilism is the belief in benefits of
profitable trading. Imports brings good and
services into a country from abroad for sale.
Exports sends (goods or services) to another
country for sale.

The Thirteen English Colonies shifted power
and wealth to the countries of Western Europe.
Spain was very rich from gold and silver. The
first English Colonies Jamestown (1607) by
Captain John Smith. Rhode Island was founded
by the Puritans and Roger Williams for
religious toleration. Connecticut and New
Hampshire was founded by Thomas Hooker to
establish self-goverment. New York was also
called,New Netherland which was over taken
by British control. Pennsylvania was founded
by William Penn for the Quakers.

Maryland.Lord Baltimore started the colony across
the Chesapeake Bay from Virginia for the England
Catholics. Delware and New Jersey the land was
taken by the Dutch and later seperated into
colonies. North and South Carolina was founded
to attract settlers from Virginia to grow tobacco
,and sale to Europe. In 1712 the Carolinas were
seperated the North were a royal colony and the
South was mostly large plantations. Georgia was
founded to place imprisoned debtors and convicts
sent from England and formed by James
Ogelthorpe.

The Mayflower Compact is about the promise
to follow the laws agreed upon by the group.
It's also about how they're gonna be helped to
establish the idea of self-government and the
majority rule. Only the men had to sign the
Mayflower Compact. They have to work
together to make laws good for the colony.
In 1639, the Fundamental Orders of
Connecticut 3 towns in Connecticut agreed to
the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut. This
document, written by Thomas Hooker, stated
that government is based is on the rights of
the individual citizens.

In 1619, the colony of Virginia established an
elected representative assemble known as the
House of Burgesses.
