In high school I took some courses that were very 

helpful in preparing me for this career, including 

anatomy and advanced algebra. Also, volunteering 

at a hospital and shadowing a physical therapist 

are great activities to participate in to see how 

well you like the occupation and the working 

environment. 

I attended 

the 

University 

of Alabama 

and earned 

a 

Bachelor's 

degree and 

a Doctor of 

Physical 

Therapy 

(masters).

Of course i risked the possible roadblocks like not 

getting into the college i was planning on 

attending (University of Alabama). So I worked 

hard to raise my GPA and score well on the ACT. 

There was also the problem of having to pay for 

most of my college myself, but I got a part time 

job, saved my money, and applied for 

scholarships to help with fees.
