Gabby was on her way home from school when she saw beautiful 

colors all around her. Yellows and oranges, reds, and pinks. She ran 

home to tell her mom all about them! 

“There were all kinds of colors! Orange, red, yellow, and blue! They 

were in perfect rows and made rectangles on the ground.” 

Gabby’s mom smiled really big and said, “why don’t you make your 

own garden?!” Gabby jumped up and screamed with excitement! 

The next day she and her mom went to the 

store to buy flowers to make Gabby's own 

garden. They bought yellow, purple, red, and 

blue flowers. 

Gabby planted all of her yellow flowers. She 

wanted to make even rows so she planted 

them in 2 rows with 3 flowers in each row. 

How many yellow flowers does Gabby have? 

2 x 3 = 6

Gabby has 6 yellow flowers.

Next, she planted her purple flowers in even 

rows. If Gabby planted 3 rows of 5 purple 

flowers, how many purple flowers does she 

have?

Gabby has 15 purple flowers.

3 x 5 = 15

Then Gabby planted her red flowers in even rows. 

If Gabby planted 4 rows of 6 red flowers, how 

many red flowers does she have?
