Ms. Jones Third grade Classroom

On a sunny fall morning Emily is ready for her another day at her school, Lincoln County Elementary and she is more than excited to start her day.

The teacher introduces a new student to the rest of the class. "Everyone this is Kamalani, she is from Georgia. She is going to be joining our class".

Right away, Emily could tell there was something different about Kamalani.

When Emily goes home, she tells her mother about Kamalani. She asks her mom "She doesn't look like us, why?"

Her Mother replies "Everyone looks different on the outside, but the same on the inside".

Emily remembered what her mother had told her the night before, she chose to introduce herself to Kamalani during their recess break. They talked the whole time and got to know each other.
