By Jessica, Jodie, Aine and Kieran

When the alarm bell rings, suddenly Oscar springs sitting up in bed, stretches his arms wide in the air, and lets out a big YAWN!

Running down the stairs with a big smile, Oscar shouted "Mum! Mum! It's time for my first day at school!"

After gobbling down breakfast, Oscar ran out of the door leaving his mum behind.
"At last," Oscar thought to himself as he reached the school gate. "Learn something new today"... and before Oscar's mum could finish her goodbye, he was through the school doors in a flash.

Walking through the doors of the classroom, Oscar met Adam. Adam was wearing a Kippah on his head. "What does that mean?" asked Oscar.
"I am Jewish" replied Adam with a big grin. "This is how I respect my God."
Oscar smiled, "It's good to learn something new."

Oscar went to hang up his coat and met Mary. Mary was in a wheelchair.
"What does that mean?" asked Oscar.
"It means that I have my own special chair and way to move around," Mary said happily.
Oscar smiled. "It's good to learn something new."

Oscar went to sit at his table and met Anneika. Anneika was wearing a bindi.
"What does that mean?" asked Oscar.
"It represents my indian culture," Anneika replied with a beam.
Oscar smiled. "It's good to learn something new."

With the class almost full, in walked Noah with his two mothers.
As Oscar greeted Noah he asked, "What does that mean?"
Noah quickly answered "Everyone has different families but are always loved."
Oscar smiled. "It's good to learn something new."

After a fun and busy day, school was finished.
As Oscar ran out of the school doors, his mum was waiting for him at the gate.
"Did you learn something new today?" she asked Oscar.
"Yes mum" replied Oscar. "We are all different and that is okay."
