First day of school in a new town, something I’d been looking forward to for a while. I couldn’t wait to walk in through the big glass front doors, navigate the halls to find my classes, make new friends, and learn new things. While I was nervous of what was awaiting behind the doors, I was excited.

My first day went like a dream. I had great teachers and met a few kids I connected with. Every day that week I couldn’t wait to go back when the day ended. My teachers were all amazing, I never had a problem with any of them, and my friends Tim, Jane, and Jake were always there for me and I was always there for them.

One day I went up to school and my homeroom teacher made a big announcement, we’d be going on a field trip next week! The best part was that we got two choices, either a trampoline park, or go see a movie. The only thing was that our class as a whole had to agree on which one we’d go on.

Right away I knew that I wanted to go to the trampoline park, I’d always seen commercials for it on TV, and it always looked so cool but I’d never been. Tim and Jake agreed with me, but Jane thought the movie theater sounded better.

“How could a bland movie theater sound better than an exciting trampoline park?” I questioned Jane. “There’s nothing even that good out right now.”
“What are you talking about?” she debated. “There’s so many great things about the movie theater. I don’t want to go to a sweaty trampoline park.”

“No way!” Jake replied. “Those places always have the super sticky floors, the floor literally pulled my shoe off my foot one time! The trampoline park is way better.”
It felt like our friendship was slowly starting to split, all because of a small field trip. Our teacher told us that we’d hold a class vote tomorrow so everyone could make up their minds.
