Hello, my name is Sabino. I am a Saguaro Cactus. I am very special to the people who live in the state of Arizona.

My blossom's are Arizona's state flower.

Aren't my flowers pretty?

I only grow in the Sonoran Desert. I only need about 10 inches of water a year. I have a waxy coating that helps keep the water inside. I also have shallow roots that spread out over large areas to get water. I can't live in areas where the temperatures get too cold. I have to live where it is hot and sunny most days.

I am a very slow-growing cactus. I only grow about two inches in my first five years of life.

I will continue to grow for a long time. By the time I am 60 years old I may be 7 to 9 feet tall.
