Today every conscious individual knows very well the sources that cause climate change as well as the alternative solutions like clean and sustainable energy sources. It's the primary duty of every individual to want what is right and clean. This book is dedicated to everyone willing to get more information about carbon footprint.

What is carbon footprint and why is it important?
Carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide and methane) that are generated by our actions.
Green gases increases the temperature so it causes climate changes, global warming, ice melting on the poles. As the ice melts, water takes place instead of land. Water is less reflective than ice. This increases the absorption of solar radiation. Therefore it causes more melting in glaciers.

What is a carbon footprint examples?
19% of total commercial energy is consumed by office buildings.
70% of the energy consumed in offices is electricity used for lighting, heating, cooling and office equipment.
Road, train and air transport generate more than 25% of the emissions.
80% of the emissions from transport are road and 13% is airway.

How can I measure my carbon footprint?
First of all,I must know that how much waste I produce each week. When this wasting amount is muptiplied by 52,I can get my annual waste production. To get my footprint, the result should be mutiplied by a carbon intensity.
For our housing footprint,I should calculate my personal share of home energy use, water use and waste disposal. This means collecting figures for our home's annual energy, water and waste. I can get my individual share by dividing it by the number of people in our home.To sum up,by dividing the amount of energy by the number of people in my house,I can calculate my individual footprint.

What has the biggest carbon footprint?
The concentration of CO2 has especially increased as a result of the industrial revolution and exponential growth in manufacturing activities around the world. Deforestation, agriculture, and fossil fuel use are the primary sources of CO2. According to the most recent data from the Global Carbon Project, the top five countries that produced the most CO2 are China, the U.S., India, Russia, and Japan.
The primary source of CO2 emissions in China is fossil fuels, notably coal burning. About 58% of the total energy derived in China comes from coal alone, and since coal is rich in carbon, burning it in China's power and industrial plants and boilers releases large amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Which country has the worst carbon footprint?
China is the largest emitter of carbon dioxide gas in the world, with 10.06 billion metric tons in 2018.

Which country has the smallest carbon footprint?
TUVALU
You have probably never heard of Tuvalu before, and that is a big part of the reason why it has the lowest carbon footprint on the planet. Their current carbon footprint rests at zero MtCO₂, and they plan to continue this trend by doing away with fossil fuels altogether.
Climate change has them concerned for the fate of their country as the tidewaters rise each year, which is why they are switching to solar and wind energy. This country may only sustain 12,000 people, but their lack of industry makes zero-emissions a feasible goal for them to achieve again.

HOW DO YOU REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT?
*Dry your clothes by hanging ınstead of using a dryer.
*Do not run your dishwasher before ıt is full
*Walk or ride a bike
*Change your light bulbs
*Switch to e-ınvoice
*Stop your heaters
*Learn the 5 R's: refuse, reduce, reuse, rot, recycle
*Conserve water and protect our waterways
*Eat seasonally, locally
*Use clean energy.

How can I reduce my carbon footprint at school?
We can walk and ride bicycles while going to school. We have to turn off unnecessarily burning lamps. When we do not use it, we must turn off our technological devices .
We can put recycling bins in schools. We can plant trees in the schoolyard.
We can pay attention to school cleanliness. We can inform our friends about the carbon footprint. We can reduce the paper consumption.

Why is it important to reduce carbon footprint?
It is important to be aware of all the factors involved in energy production, in order to reduce the negative effect we have on the environment.
The impact can be reduced through our daily activities, lifestyle and choices made. There are already tools that can help us in this regard, but I will mention two in terms of today's topic, the current one.
