"The First War of Independence"

The Indian Mutiny, also known as the Sepoy Mutiny or First War of Independence, was a rebellion against British rule in India. It started in Meerut and spread to other cities. The revolt had political, economic, social, military, and religious causes. The consequences included the end of British East India Company's rule and direct British government rule for the next 90 years.
