Rosa Parks' Epic               Bus Ride

A story about Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

Rosa Parks worked at a department store in Montgomery, Alabama. After a long day of work, she was going home on the bus. 

There was a white man who wanted her to give up her seat so he could sit there. That is what black people were supposed to do at that time...give up their seats to white people AND sit at the back of the bus. 

But Rosa bravely said, "Nope, nopers, and 'not happening'". 

Why was Rosa so brave? 

Rosa was a secretary for the NAACP, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and loved to work toward equal rights for black people.

What happened to Rosa when she refused to give up her seat on the bus? 

She was arrested!!!
