This book is dedicated to Hum 11.

In Rosa's early life, she attended a one-room school house that was only for black children. Growing up being segregated from white people, Rosa always knew she needed to spark a change.
As Rosa grew older, she dreamed of becoming a teacher however both her grandmother and mother became ill, putting her future at a hold.






At the age of 19 Rosa married Raymond Parks, who was a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, better known as the NAACP










Shortly after her wedding, Rosa began working alongside her husband at the NAACP, where her fight for colored people began.






On December 11,1955, Rosa boarded a city bus, preparing to go home after a long day of work as a seamstress in Montgomery. Rosa sat in the "colored section", located in the back of the bus. When a white passenger boarded and asked her to give up her seat. She refused.
