Lester Bowles Pearson was a Canadian scholar, statesman, soldier, and diplomat, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957 for organizing the United Nations Emergency Force to resolve the Suez Canal Crisis.956, Lester B. What is Suez Crisis?
The Suez Crisis was an event in the Middle East in 1956. It began with Egypt taking control of the Suez Canal which was followed by a military attack from Israel, France, and Great Britain. The Suez Canal is an important man-made waterway in Egypt. It connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.

Why is it significant?
The Suez Crisis in 1956 is significant because when Britain along with France and Israel gained Egypt to recover the control of the Suez Canal. Its outcome highlighted Britain's declining status and confirmed it as a second-tier word power. It caused a massive political fallout in Britain and resulted in an economic crisis, it internationally complicated the politics of the Middle East.
On 4 November the USA threatened Britain with sanctions that if there were any civilian casualties

What was the cause of Suez Crisis?
The Suez Crisis was encouraged by America and Britain decided not to finance Egypt's construction of the Aswan High Dam, as they had promised in response to Egypt's growing ties with communist Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union.
