Mackenzie and her little brother Oliver had just gotten home from school when they heard a squeaking noise.

   "What was that?" Oliver asked.

   "It's just the guinea pigs." Mackenzie reassured him.

Squeak! Squeak!

    Oliver went upstairs to do his homework while Mackenzie got ready to play with her friend Amelia. She got changed out of her school uniform and into play clothes. She went outside to start playing.    

    When Mackenzie came back inside, she took off her shoes. Oliver came downstairs and noticed grass on the floor. He didn't look at Mackenzie's bare feet.

    Mackenzie forgot to take off her shoes again!  he thought. But little did he know that the grass didn't come from Mackenzie's shoes. 

    "Mackenzie, you tracked grass all over the floor!" Oliver exclaimed.

    "No, my shoes are over there!" Mackenzie replied.

    "So, where did the grass come from?" Oliver and Mackenzie wondered.

    "Wait, hold on. I think there might be a wombat in our basement! Wombats eat grass and squeak!" Mackenzie exclaimed.

    Sure enough, there was a wombat in their basement. They eventually decided to keep the wombat as a pet. Everyone lived happily ever after.

    Soon enough, the wombat brought friends and started a wombat colony. There must've been a million invading their basement!
