Felicia Fox, private eye, at your service. I’m a detective in my town, solving mysteries. Last week, I got an interesting case.
The person sitting on the other side of my desk must have just moved here. I know everyone in town, but I’ve never seen her before.
I asked her to introduce herself. I also needed to know what exactly happened to bring her here.

“My name is Bree Bunny. I wanted to make friends in my new neighborhood, so I baked a carrot cake for my new neighbors.” she stated.
“So, what was the crime?” I asked.
“Well, I went to the grocery store before I brought the cake over. The cake was gone when I came back!” Bree replied.
“That is a problem!” I exclaimed. “Can I please have the who, when, and where?”
“The what?” Bree asked.
“Who was around when the carrot cake was stolen, when the cake was stolen, and where the cake was stolen.” I answered.
“My new neighbors are the Bear family. I believe Brittany Bear was home, and the Hare family lives across the street. I saw Harriet and Harold while I was leaving for the grocery store. I was at the grocery store between the hours of 2 and 3 P.M. yesterday, and it would have been taken from my house.” Bree replied.
“Thank you, that will be very useful. You can go home now.” I said. I handed her a coupon for a free carrot cake at the local bakery.
I got my favorite pen and wrote down my notes.
The Case of the Missing Carrot Cake:
Who: Harriet and Harold Hare, and Brittany Bear
When: Between 2 and 3 P.M. yesterday
Where: Stolen from Bree’s house
I put my notebook away in my desk. It was time to get a good night’s sleep for some investigating tomorrow.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I had my usual mystery-solving breakfast: a smoothie. That breakfast helps me think.
When I got to the office, I got my notebook out. Reviewing my notes is something I always do. After doing that, I decided to interview the Hares.
I walked down the sidewalk towards the house where Harriet and Harold Hare lived.
I rang the doorbell for the house. I could hear someone inside the house.
“Who is it?” the voice inside the house asked.
“It’s Felicia Fox, the detective.” I replied.
“Well then, you certainly must come in!” the voice exclaimed, opening the door. It was Harriet Hare.
“So, what brings you here?” Harriet asked.
“Well, a carrot cake was stolen from the house next door, and you were home at the time it was stolen.” I answered.
“You’re accusing me of a crime?” she questioned.
“Not accusing, but I need to interview you. Where were you between the hours of two and three yesterday afternoon?” I asked.
“I was here, lesson planning for my class.” she replied.
“And where was Harold?” I asked.
“He was making a salad.” Harriet answered.
