Fabric, Textile, and Cloth are names we use when we talk about materials that are manufactured. Manufactured materials are made by knitting or weaving fabrics together.


There are two main types of fabrics, Natural and Synthetic.
Natural fabrics are those that come from animals, plants, or mineral sources.
When we talk about wool, it usually comes from a domesticated sheep or goat.

Alpaca
Llama
Vicuña
Llama wool, Vicuña wool, and Alpaca wool are also a type of wool used to make warm garments. The hair on these animals is thick enough to make sweaters, coats, ponchos, and blankets.

Cashmere is another type of wool, but much softer.
It comes from the Cashmere goat.
Another type of Cashmere comes from the hair of the Angora goat which is called Mohair.

Silk comes from silkworms. It is made from the fibers of the cocoon of the Chinese Silkworm.

There are natural fabrics like Abaca, Bamboo, Coir, Cotton, and Linen, which come from the fibers of plants.

Abaca comes from the Abaca plant. It is used to make many products like accessories, handbags, shoes, wall coverings, and furniture.
