Good Friends Last

It was the first day of school and Lea was walking to Franklin road Elementary with her mom.

Lea was about to start 4th grade but she was nervous because she didn't know very many people in her class.

Lea grabbed her backpack, hugged her mom, and gathered the courage to head to her classroom. 

When Lea walked in the only girl she knew was already talking to someone, so she found an empty seat and sat down. 

The little girl turned around to see Lea sitting alone and ran over to introduce her to the girl she had been talking to. 

"Hi Lea!" she said, "I didn't see you walk in, this is my friend Joy! I think you guys will get along great!" Then the girl stepped aside leaving Lea and Joy to get to know each other. 

Lea and Joy were both shy at first but after a month of school had passed they were insperable.

They always played together at recess, Lea knew how to spin Joy on the tire swing and Joy taught Lea how to hang on the monkey bars!
