News about vaccinations were the number 1 news that people are waiting for especially here in the Philippines. Numerous of vaccines were created to prevent contracting the COVID-19 virus and people already have their preferred brand. Our country has  a lot of Sinovac vaccines, which is political, and raised a lot of concerns from Filipinos, especially the researches for the efficacy of Sinovac is still lacking.

People are easily scared and doubtful since the very fact that we have a lot of Sinovac is doubtful. While news of other countries donating a lot of other brands of vaccine are heard, people are more doubtful on the vaccine that will be rolled out in the Philippines. Personally, Jorg have read a lot of researches, news articles, and posts about Sinovac during the last quarter of 2020 when vaccines were already in the news. It was lacking and people were scared. This is a new pandemic and everything is just political at this time.

But since it is what the Philippines have, people are taking risks. Healthcare workers thought of their safety as it is very much important during these times. Vaccination for senior citizen and people with comorbidity also started. There are still doubts, but safety is the priority.

Jorg, do you want to be vaccinated?

I'm not sure yet mom.

Jorg was asked by her mom if she already want to be vaccinated. Jorg and her mom usually go out to buy the necessities since her mom needs her help. It is a risk, but they take extra care not to be contaminated with even a little dirt outside. Since researches and news articles are lacking, Jorg was not yet sure. She says in her head that she needs more time to read and think.

To make up her doubts, she read a lot of information about Sinovac. Its comparison with other brands, its efficacy, additional researches, and experiences of people who already had it. But, she really can't decide on it yet. Not until she searched the risk of her having Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and possibly contracting COVID-19.

Various researches emerged concluding the women with PCOS, like Jorg, is a high risk for severe COVID-19 since some of PCOS' complications are type 2 diabetes, cardiometabolic diseases, and high blood pressure, which are all high risk for COVID-19. Jorg was definitely scared as she was also paranoid. Not to mention, both of her family side have diabetes. Being presented with scientific data already proved to her that she needs that extra care.
