Is a nautical sport consisting of balancing on a special board that moves on the crest of the waves. 

Here begins the story of, Bethany Hamiltonthat with only 13 years old he lost his left arm to a shark .  

Her parents were lovers of this sport and, before she was born, they moved to the birthplace of surfing: Hawaii, with several of the best beaches in the world for surfing.

He participated in his first competition, Rell Sun, when he was only eight years old. She won in the two disciplines in which she participated: shortboard and longboard for girls between seven and nine years old. Her professional career was taking off at that time, becoming consolidated over the years.

When she was 9 years old, Bethany was beginning to be seen as a child prodigy. For this reason, one of the best known brands in the world of surfing, Rip Curl, happened to sponsor her along with her friend Alana Blanchard. She maintains this sponsorship today, being one of the main Rip Curl ambassadors in the world.

At the age of ten, she entered the annual Haleiwa Menehune championship and won the girls under eleven and women under 15 years. In addition, she was second in the mixed under-twelve. A true out of series.
