



Catharine Beecher was born in East Hampton, New York on September 6, 1800, she was the eldest daughter of Roxana Foote and Lyam Beecher, her parents renowned a Presloyterian minister and evangelist.
Catharine never had any formal education but she attended a school for young ladies in Litchfield Connecticut while also studying Latin, Philosophy, and mathematics independently.





While Catharine was at school her mother ended up passing away

Which caused her to leave school and go home to take care of all the needs and chores her mom used to do.



Welcome Back to School!!
She ended up getting a job as a teacher and a writer to support her family and herself.



She didn’t end up graduating school but she did end up getting engaged to Alexander Fisher but sadly passed away and never ended up getting married.
Catharine did end up doing a reform movement which made an early planner of physical education for girls.
Beecher also fought for increased recognition of the importance of the work women did in managing homes and raising families.
