Fay asks Bob, a senior, for all the information 

about orchestra. Bob tells her a quick 

summary of the orchestra activities, which 

include participating in orchestra competitions 

such as UIL and Solo & Ensemble. Orchestra 

students also do a fall, winter, and spring 

concert. 

"Who is the orchestra director/sponsor?" asks 

Fay.

 Bob replies,"Mrs. Campion is the orchestra 

director. She plays a big role in the orchestra."

 A few more questions pop into Fay's mind. "Will 

I have to pay any fees to join the orchestra? Are 

there any volunteer opportunities for me if I join 

orchestra?"

 "Yes to both," says Bob. "There is a $50 activity 

fee. also, Mrs. Campion will award you volunteer 

hours for helping her with various tasks."

 Bob continues, "There are many benefits of 

joining the Cy Woods Orchestra."

 "Oh Great!" Says Fay. "What are they?"

 "The benefits include the possibility of a 

scholarship for playing an instrument, meeting 

other people who are interested in orchestra, 

and getting your fine arts credit! You also get 

to participate in activities, like car washes, that 

benefit the orchestra and the community!"

 "So," says Fay."What are some interesting things 

about the orchestra?"

 "Well," Bob answers."There are a lot of 

interesting things about the Cy Woods Orchestra. 

The top two groups, Chamber and Symphony, get 

to participate in full orchestra, you can get a letter 

jacket for certain accomplishments, and you get 

an opportunity to play with the region and even 

state orchestras.

 "Thanks Bob, orchestra sounds great!"
