      Once upon a time, there was a little girl named 

Lillian. She lived with her parents and baby brother on a 

beautiful farm in Scotland. 

      Her parents trusted her, and they knew she was 

getting older, so one day they left her alone with her 

baby brother Ronald. Lillian was very excited at being 

treated like a "grown up" and she was determined to 

have no problems to report to her parents when they got 

home.

      Everything was going well for Lillian. She and 

Ronald were fed and all ready for bed when she heard a 

loud noise. BANG! Lillian slowly turned around and saw 

a big black blob disappearing behind the house.

      Lillian became worried. She was scared of whatever 

was out there but she was also cautious. After all, she 

did have Ronald to watch. After long thought she 

decided to lock the doors and windows and go find out 

what the creature was.

  Lillian put Ronald to bed and carefully locked the 

windows and doors. Then, she ventured outside. She 

took her loyal dog with her but she was still very scared 

at whatever the creature was.

      She carefully peered about her and caught sight of 

the big black blob. It hadn't seen her yet but she knew 

she didn't have much time before it did see her.

    Suddenly the big black blob started to roar. Lillian 

started to scream. They stood like that for a moment or 

two; Lillian screaming and the blob roaring. 

        Lillian stopped to catch her breath. She realized 

that someone else was wailing as well.

 It sounded like a baby. It sounded like Ronald 

specifically. Lillian didn't stop to think. She turned 

around and ran back to the house to scared thinking 

about what could have happened to Ronald, to register 

any thing else. If she had, she would've seen the big 

black blob follow her, and escape into the barn.

        Instead she raced to the house and tore through 

the front rooms on her way to the bedroom where she 

had left Ronald.
