Every night before bed, Olivia's mom reads a chapter out loud while they cuddle under the blankets, flashlight in hand. 

Most of the time they read Nancy Drew since Olivia is a detective, just like Nancy!

Olivia is smart and helpful. She is the perfect sleuth!

She has a magnifying glass and her trusty sidekick, Oreo the cat, to help her solve any mystery that comes her way. 

One day, Olivia's dad runs into the kitchen. His hair is a mess and he looks worried. 

"I can't find my watch", Dad says. 

Olivia knows how important Dad's watch is. She thinks that this is the perfect chance to help her Dad and practice her sluething. 

Olivia starts her detective work by looking for clues. 

She interviews her mom who says "Dad's watch is  always on his nightstand, but it wasn't there this morning!"

She interviews her brother, Christopher, who says "Have you tried looking in the closet?"

She interviews Apollo, her Golden Retriever, who wags his tail and says "Woof!"

Olivia doesn't feel any closer to solving her mystery. 

She starts to feel a little sad, a little angry, and a little bit like crying. 

She's not sure what to do but Olivia knows that Mom will make her a cup of tea and listen to Olivia's feelings.

Olivia and her mom sit down in the kitchen. 

Olivia says "I haven't seen Dad's watch and I feel like giving up"

Mom nods her head and says "It's okay to feel sad, or angry, or like crying. Let's be sad, and angry, and cry a little bit. Sometimes, feelings are just there to tell us that we need a break"

Olivia and her mom drink their tea and talk about things that make them sad, and angry, and like they need to cry. 

Olivia feels much better. She is happy that she took a break. She asks Mom to help her since she feels stuck. 

Mom says "Well, what would Nancy Drew do?"
