David and Tony were birds of a feather; there was nothing the two did not do together!

David and Tony were even in the same class! They learned math and science, and found it easy to pass. The best part of their school was how the two learned; in different languages, soon Spanish and English would be earned. 

One day the two were with David’s mom. She was running errands, and the two tried to keep calm.

Hola! 

Mi nombre es Tony!

They started speaking Spanish to keep themselves busy, when a lady in the aisle looked quite uneasy.

See, David and Tony, despite their same minds, were treated differently in public; Tony’s less kind. And while the two shared a powerful tool, Tony’s treatment was often far more cruel.

The lady came over, wagging her hand. “In this country you should speak English young man!”

David was shocked; this was his best friend! He did not want their conversation to end.

His mother came back, and shooed the lady aside. “Tony, do not let her damage your pride”

Tony nodded his head, and David was sad. Why did Tony make that lady so mad?

They got in the line and as they went to pay, a nice man behind them had something to say...

“Rest easy mi amigo, that lady is sad. Who could ever see Spanish as bad?”
