Food
Most Filipinos do not eat with chopsticks, instead using Western cutlery. However, the traditional way of eating with the hands known as kamayan, is still seen in more rural areas. Filipino cuisine heavily derives flavors from India, Japan, China, and Spain. Because both the Philippines and Mexico were conquered by the Spanish, they are ancestrally connected, sharing many cultural similarities. Three popular foods are adobo, lumpia, and sinigang.
