My name is Penny. I am 8 years old. I have a little sister named Betty. I am your average third-grader except for one thing. I am allergic to peanuts. 

   Today is my first day back to school. I am excited and a little bit nervous. I am pretty certain it'll be alright. I have my supplies and my EpicPen packed. Later on, I will let you in on my secret.

   It is the first day. There are children everywhere. I am most worried about lunch but I have to get through a few classes first. Once the bell rings, I will be on my way.

TROUBLE.

   It is finally lunchtime. Whew, I survived math and language! So far, it is just another day of school. I will meet up with Betty and head to the lunchroom.

   The aroma of peanut soup fills the room and my senses instantly tingle. Something is wrong. It is very, very wrong. My lips are swelling and my throat is itching. Hives are forming. I know what I have to do and I need to react quickly. 

I administer the EpicPen.
