Once upon a time there was a great volunteer team. They always had fantastic days at school being involved in different volunteering activities.

One day, excited after classes, they decided to spend some time downtown and enjoy the gorgeous window-shops Christmas decoration. As the school bus drove down the street, they noticed a boy and a girl crying on the side of the road.

The team stopped the bus and got off to check whether everything was alright. They asked the children what was the matter...

Hey, children! Why are you alone here? Do you need help?

The boy and the girl looked sad and lonely. The leader of the team, named Tom, asked them again...

What are your names?

We are Nick and Angela. We are from the Orphanage

We wanted to see the Christmas decorations and the shops downtown. We haven't got families but we want to feel the Christmas spirit

What are you doing here?

Yes, every Christmas I write letters to Santa Claus, but I never receive a red toy car.

Tom decided to call the orphanage and to assure them that the children were okay, but the team came up with an idea. They wanted the children to feel the magic of Christmas...
After the phone call with the orphanage principle, who assured them the kids feel better, they talked for hours about what they could do to bring joy and happiness to the poor children...

I think we can visit the kids in the orphanage tomorrow!
That's an excellent idea !!!!!

There is a garage sale at our neighbours' house. I saw there a red toy car. I have some money saved for my new bike, but I don't need the bike now. On my way home I will buy that car
Wonderful! The boy will be so happy to have it!

The only wish they had was to see smiles on their faces. Aware of the fact that they couldn't take the time back when the little kids had no pain and worries spending Christmas with their parents at home, the students decided to turn their plan into reality.
When they came back home, everyone shared with their parents.
Parents were impressed about the story and decided to help too. Next day, all the neighbourhood knew about the story of Nick and Angela and a charity event to save money was organised.
Tom and their friends decided to organise a CAKE COMPETITION in the neighbourhood. The town hall helped them to organise tables all around the street. That day cars were not allowed in the street. Every neighbour had to bake a cake and placed it in one table. All people who visited the neighbourhood had to pay a symbolic amount of money to taste and vote for the most delicious cake.
The charity event was really a success and they saved more than they expected!

With all money saved, next day Tom and his friends went to the garage sale in order to buy the red toy car for Nick as well as some Christmas decorations for Angela. The man who was in charge of the garage sale was a sensitive man and, after listening Tom and his friends and knowing the story, he didn't want to be paid...

It's Christmas! Take the red toy car and use the money to buy as many Christmas decorations as you can!

Tom and his friends were really happy!!! They took the car and went to the shopping center to buy a big Christmas tree, sweets and Christmas decorations for Angela and her friends from the orphanage
