Birth
Charles Babbage was born in London, England on December 26, 1791 to Benjamin Babbage and Betsy Plumleigh Teape. He had 2 siblings: Henry and Mary Anne Babbage, and he also had a third sibling who's name is unknown.
School
When Charles was eight years old he was sent to a country school in Alphington to recover from a very bad fever. For a short time, he went to King Edward Vl Grammar School in Totnes, South Devon but his health forced him to get private tutors. After that Charles went to Holmwood Academy in Einfield, Middlesex. He liked it there because there was a library that had
books about Charles's favourite subject, mathematics. He then studied with two more private tutors after leaving the academy. After his private tutoring he went back to the school in Totnes when he was 16 or 17 years old. But then he got one more private tutor who helped Charles get into the University of Cambridge. In 1810, when he arrived at Trinity College he joined clubs like the

Marriage
On July 25, 1814, when Charles was only 22 years old, he married Georgiana Whitmore and they had 8 kids but only 4 (Benjamin Herschel, Georgiana Whitmore, Dugald Bromhead and Henry Provest Babbage) survived childhood. Charles and Georgiana's other four children were named Charles Whitmore, Edward Stewart, Francis Moore and Alexander
Forbes Babbage. In 1827, his wife Georgiana, his son Charles and his son Alexander died.
Career
After Charles graduated he applied for a few jobs but they were all unsuccessful. So in 1819, Charles went to Paris and the Society of Arcueil, which was a group of French mathematicians and physicists who met regularly. That same year Charles applied to be a professor at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland but he didn't get the job, so he studied
