Hi, I am Polly and do you like adventures? Because my friends and I sure do. I live in the taiga biome and there is lots to do there. My friends are Sarah and Alice. They are both really nice and caring, but sometimes Alice can get annoying. We have been rock climbing, jet skiing and ziplining. We were bored one afternoon and we wanted to go on another adventure. 

I thought about it for a bit and said, “Lets hike up the taiga. We live in it and we have never done that before.”

“Yeah that would be so fun,” Sarah and Alice replied.

The taiga is a scenic area and it has mountains, rivers and many trees. It is the largest terrestrial biome on Earth so it is going to be tiring. It is huge and it goes on forever.

The next day Sarah, Alice and I packed a bag with things that can save us if anything happens. Some things that I put in the bag were mosquito repellent, a rope and bandages. That afternoon we left for the hike after eating delicious pizza for lunch.

When we reached there I said, “This is huge and it looks like more than 10 million elephants can live on it. Elephants are also really big so just imagine. I also heard that the taiga takes up 29% of Earth’s surface.”

We started the hike and Alice saw a bear and screamed. The bear growled so loud that we started running. It chased us for at least 15 minutes. We were frightened and we were screaming on the top of our lungs. 

After a while we stopped running and we hid in a small cave. 

We were all saying, “ SSHHH, SSHHHHH!” 

The bear thought he lost us, so he left and ran back to it’s home. 

We got out of the cave and we realized that we were all lost. We forgot to pick up the trail map and there is no cell service. What were we supposed to do now. I thought that this would be the perfect adventure and I ruined it for my friends. 

We then were talking about solutions and what we could do. We were sitting on a large rock that had disgusting green moss and insects. I just hope we can figure out what to do before the sun sets.
