It was a sweltering summer day in the tiny village of Ridgefield. Jane decided to take a hike up to the ridge overlooking the valley. 

She packed a snack of fudge and headed out.

As she crossed the old bridge, Jane heard a strange noise coming from the edge of the path up ahead. 

She peeked through the bushes and spotted a small rabbit with its leg caught in some sludge from the rain the night before.

"Oh no, you poor little thing!" Jane exclaimed. She carefully approached the rabbit and used her bandage from her hiking pack to gently free its leg from the thick mud.

 The rabbit hopped away, seemingly relieved and unharmed.

With a satisfied smile, Jane continued her way up to the ridge. Once at the top, she sat down and enjoyed her fudge while taking in the beautiful view of her little village down below.
