Hello, my name is Ching. I'm an international student from Vietnam studying in a beautiful country, Korea.
Today I will tell you about culture shock in Korean weddings...
Wedding is a big day in everyone's life, and every country has a different wedding day custom that has been passed down from generation to generation.
When I was invited by a Korean colleague to attend a wedding ceremony. I was very happy to be able to bless them, so I prepared for the ceremony very carefully. I prepared a beautiful white dress to wear that day.
But when I bought it, I was stopped by my roommate, who suggested that I change to another dress with a beige or pastel color and the simplest pattern.
I was very curious and found it difficult to understand because in Vietnam at every wedding people have to dress very formally so as not to embarrass the bride or groom.
My roommate explained that "in Korea, guests should wear simple clothes, light makeup so that the bride becomes the focus of the ceremony and that is also a way to show respect with the bride and groom.
