Chapter 1:Allan
Allan was a boy like no other.
He lived in California with his dad Melvin and his mom Helen. They lived in a wooden house near a forest.
One day, while Allan was finishing his supper, he heard an explosion.
Helen yelled,"Quick Allan, hide! "
Allan hid under the table. Suddenly, the door was knocked of it's hinges and Melvin fell to the floor.
Allan could see that the door had fallen on his dad. He yelled.
"There he is!" a voice said.
"Grab him! "said another.
Helen yelled, "Colosus Masterda !"
Two enourmous carnevour plants errupted from the ground and hit somebody on the back of the head.
"STOP! In order of Merlin! " said the voice.
Suddenly the plants stopped moving but this time Melvin shouted,
"Infernoster Igniter !"
From the ceilings, lava was flowing slowly towards the ground. The roof of the house was on fire.
"Run Allan,run! "yelled Melvin.
His father was trying desprately to take the door of himself. Allan bolted threw the door and went into the forest. From a prudent distance, Allan could see that his house was only a column of smoke.
He yelled. He was depressed. His parents were dead.
Allan saw two shades entering the forest.Closer and closer they got and now, Allan could see them. His dad and his mom. He could not believe his eyes. They were alive. Allan ran towards his parents. He embraced them, tears of joy on his pale face. When Allan had calmed down, he asked his father how they had escaped.
His father replied" Allan, ever since you were born, I have been working on an escape tunnel. Have you ever noticed the bump under the kitchen table?"
" Yes dad, I have noticed it, but I never knew what it was. And,dad, what where those weird things you said?"
"Well Allan, there is a school of magic. There, you learn how to do spells, like the one I did."
"Spells?! What is the name of the school you went to?" asked Allan.
"It was called Magiview" said his mother, Helen.
Chapter 2: Magiview
"Magiview?" asked Allan strangely.
"Yes, Magiview." said Helen.
"Where is the school ?"asked Allan.
"Everywhere." replied Helen.
It can't be everywhere,"said Allan.
"Yes it can," said his dad.
His dad pulled out a small map. Allan was surprised at the map. It not only showed all the countries but it also showed all the people on it.
Allan asked his dad where he had found the map.
His father replied" I did not find it. They give each of us a map like this when we start school at Magiview."
" Can I go to that school" asked Allan.
"No," replied Melvin." You can't go there."
"Why?" asked Allan.
"You can't go because of what happened tonight."
"Dad, who were those people."
" Those, Allan, where Merlin's scouts."
"If they have come here, that means that Merlin thinks that you are a threat to him so you can't go to the school because they will capture you and there will be a trial that will decide if you are dangerous or not." Said Helen
"But, why does Merlin find me dangerous?" asked Allan as he frowned.
"Maybe, you are too good at magic or you have cualities never seen in a mage," said Helen.
" Wait a second. I'm a mage?" said Allan, so surprised that he stepped back and banged his head against a tree.
" Yes Allan. You're father and I are mages to." said Helen with a glance at Melvin.
After a moment his father broke the silence.
"Alright. Let's go make a den. Allan, get the wood, Helen, get the straw and I'll go to hunt. That way, we will be able to eat breakfast tomorrow," said his father.
As Allan got further and further from his parents, he appeared on a
countryside. Allan noticed a pair of shoes under a big oak log. He tried to lift it, and when he gave up, he tried pulling him by his shoes. After twenty minutes or so, he was able to pull the man from under the oak log. He pulled back, surprised and stared at the face of the man. It had three long scars on his face and his leg was dangling at a funny angle but otherwise, he was good. His hair was brown. He grabbed some wood and then, hauled the man on his shoulders. The walk to the den was difficult. The man kept groaning and moving so Allan could not grab the log properly. After thinking a bit, he made something like a small wooden sled using the logs. Then, he placed the man behind him and started to move the sled with his hands pressing on the cold forest floor. Now,
Allan could distinguish a faint light. He saw his father and mother sitting near a small fire they had made. His mother looked up and saw Allan. She looked as if she had been crying. She had big puffy eyes. She ran towards him, but, instead of hugging him, she tied him to a tree and blacked him out with a rock.
Chapter 3: Kidnapped
When Allan woke up, he noticed he was being carried. He looked upwards and saw two men. They both had green eyes and black hair. Allan asked them where his parents where.
One of them looked at him and said, " At home."
Allan said," I don't have a house. It got burned up. My dad said it was burned up by Merlin Scouts."
"So you know about us." said a drawling voice behind them.
That was when Allan noticed a third man behind them. He was little, and had big brown eyes. His face was covered in scorch marks. He was the ugliest person Allan had met in his whole life.
"So you think I'm ugly, " repeated the tiny man.
Allan thought how he had known what he was thinking. The next moment, he was already regretting what he had thought of.
" Everyone thinks the same thing after they see my powers," said the tiny man.
Allan asked the man what he meant about his powers.
The tiny man replied, " My powers are to read people's thoughts. If I concentrate enough, I can even read animal's thoughts."
Allan loooked at him. He was surprised at the powers of the tiny man.
Allan asked," What's your name?"
The tiny man replied," Just call me Plaer.
" Where are you taking me?, Tlear" asked Allan.
Plear stomped his feet against the earth.
" Why does every body call me Tlear when they have just seen me! Also, I'm a Merlin Scout. When we reach the lord, I will tell him to put him in the dungeons," said the tiny man angrily.
Allan looked at him with frightened eyes. This man is mad, he thought.
The man whispered," You think I'm mad? Well, think again."
Allan saw the man he had rescued. He looked terrible now. His face was half scarred. His hair was not the same blond hair he had seen under the tree. It was white, the colour of snow.
They were walking across a big field full of blue, red and yellow flowers. They walked until night came. The Merlin Scouts stopped walking near a big cliff edge. They unfolded some tents. Just before they went in the tents, they tied Allan and the man on a tree. When Allan woke up, he heard voices. The two big men had started to walk again.
Allan asked them, " Why are you carrying us. You now we can walk, don't you?"
The man said pointing at the old man, " Not him though."
Allan looked at the old man and he immedeatly began to snore in the man's arm.
Chapter 4: The Phoenix
When Allan woke up from his nap, he heard the men talking between each other. The only words Allan could distinguish were: Phoenix and forest. He looked up ahead and saw a big red forest.
Allan asked," Why is the forest red?"
"It has that colour to lure travellers into it. " said Plear.
"Why does it want people to go in it?" asked Allan again.
Both men looked at Plear as if waiting for permission to say something.
Plear looked at them and nodded.
Both men turned around and said," A phoenix."
Allan looked at the men, his mouth as dry as a carpet. Allan thought, these men are crazy. How can there be a phoenix in that forest.
But it all matched up well. Red leaves. Red Phoenix. Red trees the colour of fire. Phoenixes breathe fire.
"Were not crazy," said Plear.
That was when Allan remembered Plear coul read thoughts.
When they entered the forest, Allan started to get nervous. Was there really a phoenix living in that forest. Was it going to pounce on them when they were not looking. Allan was thinking so hard that he didn't notice the men stopping. They reppeated what they had done that night. When the men had finished tying Allan and the man, they introduced themselves into their tents. This time, Allan could not sleep. He was on the lookout for the phoenix. Suddenly, out of the dark of the forest came a red flaming bird. It had wings the colour of blossoming red flowers. It's tallons were as big as a brick and it's beak was as big as a human. It's eyes were green. Allan was surprised. Green! It's whole body is red. Why aren't his eyes red too?
"Hi," said Allan nervously." Please don't eat me."
