FAMOUS PHILOSOPHERS

SOCRATES
(c. 470 BCE–399 BCE)
Socrates was a scholar, teacher and philosopher born in ancient Greece. His Socratic method laid the groundwork for Western systems of logic and philosophy.
Socrates believed that human choice was motivated by the desire for happiness. Ultimate wisdom comes from knowing oneself. The more a person knows, the greater his or her ability to reason and make choices that will bring true happiness.

As to Socrates’s philosophy, I really admire how he views the choice of an individual. We all know and are familiar with the word “choice” because it is always part of an individual’s life. We experience deciding on something because there is a choice, we can even accept or reject it because we intentionally choose/decide it based on what we want, on what we really desire and if we think that it could have a good outcome and impact for us.

Therefore, Socrates' ideas on human choice are definitely true because it came from our own desire, from our own personal goal for the sake of happiness. Knowing yourself is the beginning of your choice, the beginning of all our wisdom because if we know our own self, we also literally know what we want in the near future, we know what could make us happy. And it tends that knowing yourself deeply is a kind of greater chance of ability to have reason and purposes in life which makes us choices that will bring true happiness in our life. Knowing ourselves is a must, it leads us to be motivated by choosing the right decisions to success in life with satisfaction of happiness.
Confucius
(551–479 BCE)
Chinese teacher, writer, and philosopher. Confucius viewed himself as a channel for the theological ideas and values of the imperial dynasties that came before him

Confusius advocated the importance of strong family bonds, including respect for the elder, veneration of one’s ancestors, and marital loyalty.
Confucius as a teacher, knows the value and virtue of having a strong relationship or connection with other people, mostly the family bonds. And here I will definitely agree with Confucius' ideas or concept regarding the family bonds because we have similar perspectives when it comes to this. I grew up aware of the reality of life, how to live well and peacefully, how to have good relationships and communicate with other people. And giving respect to other people whether young or elder because every individual in this world deserves to be respected.
