Welcome to class! My name is Miss Hannah. Today we will be going on a field trip to explore some of the different habitats of the world.

Let's hit the road! Don't forget to put on your seatbelts.

Our first stop is the Sahara Desert. It's very hot here and the air is dry. It's a good thing we remembered to pack our water bottles.

The green plants we see are cacti and the animal behind me is a camel. Cacti store water in their bodies to last a long time. Camels can go days without eating or drinking because the humps on their backs store fat.

Our next stop is the Amazon Rainforest. The weather here is warm and humid. It rains almost every day!

Many animals and plants live here. On the right are flowers called orchids. I also see a poison dart frog on the rocks to my left. It is a bright color so that the other animals know to stay away.

We have arrived at the North Pole, part of the Arctic tundra. Bundle up because it is very cold! During the winter the temperature is always well below freezing, but in the summer is does get a bit warmer. It snows and rains here, but not very often.

Plants in the Arctic tundra grow close to the ground. I see some green arctic moss growing in front and behind me. The big, white animal in front of me is called a polar bear. Polar bears keep warm from their fat and fur.
