Following the wars between the Dacians and the Romans, Dacia was transformed into a Romanian province, and will remain ruled for 165 years (106-271) by the Romans. The Romanization of the local population took place relatively quickly and easily. In addition to the administrative measures, the factors that contributed to the Romanization include: the military service in which the young Dacians enlisted, marriages between Romanian veteran soldiers and Dacian women, Christianity spread in Latin. e.t.c.
We can speak of a period of bilingualism, when the Geto-Dacian and Latin languages are used at the same time, until the final imposition of the latter.
The Romanian language comes from spoken popular Latin or vulgar Latin (lat. Vulagaris = popular).
This aspect of Latin is also the basis of the other Romance languages.

The process of forming the Romanian language ends in the seventh century. Invasions of migrating peoples: Goths, Gepis, Huns, Avars, Slavs, etc. they influenced the language, without changing the main background of words and the grammatical structure of Latin origin.

The main vocabulary of the Romanian language is 60-66% of Latin origin, inherited. To these are added about 2200 proper names (Argeș, Cris, Dunăre, Motru) of words inherited from the Dacians-Getae. All the other peoples who passed through here left influences in the main words. Thus, from the Slavic we have about 20-22% of the main fund of words: (clește, boală, milă, cocoș); from Hungarian: (chip, fel); from Turkish: (alai, cișmea) from neo-Greek: (cărămidă, a pedepsi); and from French :(bancnota, a defini) l etc.
The first known document written in Romanian is a short letter from 1521 'Neacsu's letter from Campulung'. After this date, we have many letters, deeds of sale and purchase, dowry sheets, notes, etc .; and after 1540, also printed books, most of them in Brasov.
