Allison woke up grudgingly to the bright yellow rays of
summer sunlight streaming in through her bedroom
window. It was Saturday morning and only eight o’ clock.
Turning to stretch her arms she fell of the edge of her
bed. She squealed when she fell, even though it wasn’t
that far to the ground. “Guess I was closer to the edge
than I thought.” She said rubbing her head where she
banged it on the table.

Since she was awake, she decided to go down the
street to see Claire her best friend. Claire was always
a morning person, and always up pretty early.
Allison knocked on Clarie's door and she was there
right away. “Well your up early aren’t you Ally? In
fact it’s almost too early for you to be up.” Claire
smiled, she was kidding around of course. “Yeah, well
it’s hard to get a decent sleep in when the sun
decides to come out and rudely wake you up.” Ally
complained.

Walking into the living room Clare and Allison
wondered what exactly they were going to do that day.
“Movies? Shopping?” Claire suggested. “Actually I was
thinking maybe something outside, it’s a nice day. How
about a walk or something like that?” Ally asked. “Hm
sounds fun! Where at? The park or the woods?” “The
woods defiantly, less people crowding us and it is more
peaceful.” Allison smiled at her logical thinking.

The woods they were going to were fifteen minutes
from Clarie's house, so her mom drove them and said
she’d pick them up around 1:00. The woods were
almost silent, apart from the rustling leaves on the
trees and crunching under their feet, and the birds.
Claire and Allison chatted a little bit, but mainly they
just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Allison watched the
ground when she walked, because she was really
clumsy, and was afraid of tripping. She saw something
shinning underneath the leaves.

“Claire wait!” Allison yelled ahead, startling Claire. Turning
to walk back to Allison, her face was curious as Allison
picked up the shinning gold object. “What is it?” Claire
asked looking over Allison’s shoulder. “It looks like-“Allison
paused shaking the dirt off of it. “Like a watch, a pocket
watch." Allison decided. "Huh, that's weird.
